A French Country Cottage
The French Country Cottage suggests a French provincial home. The muted colors evoke memories of fields of lavender and poppies waving gently in the breeze. The antiques throughout remind you of visits to your grandparentís home over the holidays. The numerous Buckley Moss prints are reminiscent of a world in the past. The handmade distressed kitchen cabinets invite you to sit and have a cup of hot tea. The hardwood floors are lovingly refinished. The kitchen with its hanging wire rack with copper pots and pans and stone counter is a perfect place to catch up on those languishing cooking skills that you have almost forgotten about. The dining area is a perfect place to sit and to share a good conversation. The oak corner cabinet is another beautiful antique filled with colorful flower dishes. The antique white Roman shades in the living room allow the sun to filter through as you decide what to do or not to do on your vacation.
It has two bedrooms with a queen-size bed in each room. They are joined by a large bathroom with a Jacuzzi tub which is perfect after a vigorous bike ride on the Virginia Creeper Trail or a hard day of shopping in Historic Downtown Abingdon. There is also a walk-in ceramic tiled shower. The bathroom cabinet is restored to a mellow perfection. The charming pink bedroom with iron headboard reminds you of a childís dream with fluffy pillows and shams and matching duvet. The other bedroom is muted yellows with an iron headboard also.
Like to dine outdoors on those warm summer evenings? You will find an enclosed, beautifully landscaped brick patio outside your kitchen door. A white iron table and chairs await you. There is a charcoal grill if you feel adventurous. Enjoy your morning coffee or sit quietly and watch the vibrant sunset over the magnificent Appalachian Mountains.
